I am looking at my first home build PC, was wondering if you would have a look at it before i order all the parts along with any recommendations and suggestions.

Asus P5K
Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2x1GB) DDR2 PC2-8500C5 1066MHz Dual Channel Kit
Plextor PX800A 18x18 DVD±RW Dual Layer ReWriter
Core2Duo E6600
2x500 GB Western Digital
320 BFG 8800GTS
Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Music 7.1 Soundcard - OEM
LG 22" L226WTQ LCD
Windows Vista premium 32 bit OEM
Anetc 9 hundred case
620W Corsair PSU

I ll be using the PC for gaming, work, and movies fed into a HD panel. Would i need any additional coolers, probably wont be overclocking it just yet or anything else I am missing?

The video card might be a liitle under what is required for the monitor especially if you want to turn up the settings for your games.

For £235 the best option is the 640mb 8800GTS, the additional memory is likely to help if you have a large monitor but the 320mb version should be just about ok. I'd suggest spending the extra though since you are saving money on the Ram.

Any real reason for getting 32bit Vista?

The Plextor seems overpriced when compared to say the NEC AD7170S which will perform as well.

You could probably also go with the HX 520w with no issues at all as it is more than capable of what you require. :)

Ok thanks for your help so far, revised specs based on your suggestions:

Asus P5K
GeIL 2GB PC5300C4. 667Mhz DDR2
NEC AD7170S Serial ATA 18x18 DVDRW
Core2Duo E6600
2x500 GB Western Digital
640 BFG 8800GTS
Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Music 7.1 Soundcard - OEM
LG 22" L226WTQ LCD
Windows Vista premium 64 bit OEM
Anetc 9 hundred case
520W Corsair PSU

I am happy with everything except the memory, is the RAM good enough?
