1. ocz or corsair are both fine, take cheapest i guess
2. get a 4850 or 4870 (better cards and newer tech) not a 9800 gtx, especially on p45 board since you can run xfire in 2x8
3. not sure about PSU don't know that make, if you run 1 card only won't need 700w can get something form more established brand (corsair, seasonic, enermax modu, zalman or be quiet) can start with corsair hx520, anyway whatever you choose get a decent brand

Well i'd go with the corsair ram "But that's only coz i have corsair in my system and i rate it" :P

As for a G-Card i also have the HIS 4870 and it's an amazing card,The 4850 is just as good and is a little bit cheaper,But if you have the spare cash i deffo recommend a 4870 :)

And for the psu I'd say get:

Corsair TX 750W ATX2.2 SLI Compliant PSU

But same again,That's only coz i have this also in my system too,You might want the one you have coz of the modular cables.
I only went with this psu so i can upgrade the g-card whenever i wanted so i didn't have to buy a psu again on top.

In that case i hear that the : Corsair HX 620W ATX2.2 Modular SLI Compliant PSU

is a good psu,But yet again it just depends on how much your willing to spend :)

**Edit**It's always a good idea to check the QVL (Qualified Vendors List) list for your mobo when picking your ram,Just incase :) **Edit**

Need a (better) aftermarket cooler if planning to OC e.g. Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro

Howcome an IDE optical drive? SATA ones have more manageable cables.

With the changes, the rest looks good.

Thanks for all the advice guys, I have updated the list 1 last time, and I think I'm ready to order. I had the cpu cooler on my list, just didn't post it here.

Last thing: is there any difference between IDE and a SATA dvd drive?

I've got a very similar spec which I built a couple of months ago. Most importantly i've got the same mobo and cpu combo and have been unable to overclock it above 3.2ghz. I'm usin OCZ ram not corsair but if you're thinking of overclocking i'd probably avoid the mobo

SATA is the new connection for HDD's and DVD drives etc that uses a smaller power and data cables allowing better air flow in the PC case.

looks like a sweet build. enjoy your first build, am sure you won't regret it and i doubt you will ever buy a pre-built in future

PS SATA is better, none of those massive cables that block airflow. IDE is just legacy crap that will be extinct - can't believe it still around though
