First Time Build

Firstly I know I previously had a thread about this but that was nearly a month ago and prices etc have changed!

I finally have the finances in my bank to order my 1000 pound machine. Its to include everything apart from a mouse (ohhhh how I love my current mouse lol)

The machine is for CAD (Autodesk Revit being the most used program) as well as photoshop and a few other design programs. I do game a bit but its not a priority to make the system uber fps. I want it to be quite future proof so that I wont need to buy a new pc untill after my time at uni finishes (nearly 4 years) but I will upgrade ram/GPU in the future.

I pretty much know what I want/need but I thought i'd throw it on here and see what people think incase I am making a stupid mistake!

The only component I am struggling with is the case if I am honest!

I hear the GTX 460 is the best GPU around for the money so you could consider getting one of those.

As for a case, I highly recommend the Xigmatek Midgard case

Which means windows for free. The only problem I have with getting it free is the download they give you only works for an upgrade so you need XP or vista already installed on your new pc...OR you can get a CD from your uni IT guys and do a full install. Which is fine unless your home for the summer and live 150 miles away from your uni!
 
I'd recommend buying an OcUK Overclocked bundle. It's CPU, RAM, Motherboard and CPU Cooler, all you gotta do is put it together and fit all the rest of the components. It's ideal for a first builder, as you know all the components compliment eachother, and the overclock makes things nice and speedy ;)
