First time build

First time build. Expert advice required Please!

Hi there,

I want to get into home building and am looking for advice as to which way to go.
I currently have an AMD Phenom 9550 Quad Core 2.2GHZ, Foxconn A6VMX Mobo, And 4GB DDR2 Ram.
The first thing I want to do is get rid of vista and install win7 on a SSD. Should I replace my mobo when I do this so that I have future expansion possibilities without having to update all my drivers when I do decide to upgrade CPU.
Think I might go for Phenom II X4 965 BE which will require new mobo as its not compatible with current one.
Would like to upgrade slowly at first, just until I get the hang of it.

thanks for the advice, been looking at a few 128Gb ssd's Would you say this is overkill For O/S and other progs? Any recomendations?

not too bothered about games for the time being just want a project for the time being. might ditch the wii and 360 and get some pc games in the future
