HI everyone im looking at building my first pc system and super excited

my budget is around 800-850 and would prefer AMD gpu and cpu due to having to use linux as well (dual boot)

any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Games i play, destiny 2 , Warframe, GTA. borderlands 2 FFXIV. elder scrolls online 1080p 60-120fps is fine

thanks in advance!

I think I'd look at a ryzen 5600 and an rx 7600 for that budget. 32gb RAM seems to be the way to go now with some games starting to want more than 16gb. Wonder if something like the below (some parts on pre order, can get elsewhere) might be a starting point:

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £794.92 (includes delivery: £11.98)

I might think about upgrading the PSU to a 750W one with a good warranty if you might upgrade the gpu in future, but haven't here as availability and prices don't look great atm...

Could go for a 2TB ssd like this if you might want more storage (and still keeping one m.2 slot free for a future addition): https://www.overclockers.co.uk/wd-b...gen4-solid-state-drive-wds200t-hd-591-wd.html

Could go for an AM5 system (eg with a ryzen 7600 cpu) which would gove some good future upgrade options, but that would add possibly a couple of hundred quid as the cpu and motherboard would be a fair bit more expensive (and RAM would be slightly more expensive).

Edit: if you can get a ryzen 5700x at a good price then that would be a nice improvement on the 5600 too that should give it a bit more life. (NB the 5700x doesn't come with a stock cooler like the 5600 does, so could add on £20 for a basic 120mm tower cooler, or a bit more for something like a thermalright peerless assassin which gets reviewed very well).

Its a very good pc build for your budget. All I would change is:

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £115.93 (includes delivery: £7.99)

The psu can be had at other retailers. OCUK seem to be having a real issue with getting in stock ATM.

I would stick with the 5600 TBH. Its a fantastic chip for the money and if the stock cooler proves to be to load for you a Thermalright X120 refined se v2

Can be had for under £20 and it will blow the stock cooler into the weeds for cooling and silence while still fitting in the G300a case. :)
