So I've just attempted to build my first PC.

I installed the PSU, Mobo, CPU, Ram and HDD

I have left the GPU for now as I was far too anxious to see if it even turned on..

IT DID, except a few seconds after the MSI Bios screen came up I saw:

'Restart and select proper boot drive'

Now I'm just praying this isn't like a static problem or anything as I was triple careful and hoping I just need to check the cables.

I will have another bash tomorrow, I still need to place the GPU, I would appreciate any advice on this situation!

Thank you

Sounds fine, do you have a drive to boot windows from like a DVD or USB stick or pre-loaded onto a HDD?

If you do and its connected, go into the bios and check the boot priority order to see if it is being detected.

That would be expected, once the BIOS completed the BOOT process and passes over to read data from the HDD, it would expect a operating system to be there to start loading into the RAM, at the moment your HDD is blank!

Once you install an OS onto the HDD, you'll be good to go.
