I have never oc'd before but i plan to hopefully the mobo/cpu and cooler are a good choice.

And the 60gig ssd for the os and wow and the other hd for data and what not. Wasnt sure about I7, certainly bumps the price up with memory and mobo costs, max budget is £1500.

Comment and suggestions greatly appreciated :)

Andy

Personally i'd lower the gfx card down to a 4870 or 280 and see if you can squeeze an I7 system in your budget.

I'd also ditch the SSD... Still many issues with writing to memory etc, and its not that much faster in the real world.

Agree re getting a 280 and going i7
This spec below is a good start, no 280 included as most are out of stock, but you can pick one up for £230, then just add your mouse/keyboard and youre good to go, still less than 1500

Thanks for the tips guys, do you think a single 280 will be enough for smooth 1920x1200 gameplay ?

Must admit it would make more sense to go i7, do you think the cpu cooler will fit ok in the anubis case ?

Cheers :)

Yes re 280 being sufficient, certainly for todays games, if you need to you can lways add another down the line in say a years time
Re the case, dont know, never had one of them, I was going to spec you mine, the antec 1200 as its great case loads of room (which would come in handy for SLI'ing 280's)and great cooling, but its a bit more than your choice and would have pushed you over budget when you add in your mouse/kb on top

im about to do a i7 build i game at same res i personally have gone with a gtx295. i had a gtx280 which turned out to be faulty but it run games pretty well with high settings. that was on a q6600 aswell will fly on i7

Ok so ive decided on -

BFG GeForce GTX 295 1792MB GDDR3 TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (BFGRGTX2951792E) £379.99

Asus P6T Deluxe Intel X58 (Socket 1366) PCI-Express DDR3 Motherboard £214.99
G.Skill 6GB DDR3 NQ PC3-10666C9 1333MHz (3x2GB) Triple Channel DDR3 (F3-10666CL9T-6GBNQ) £149.99
Coolermaster Real Power 850w Modular Power Supply £104.99
Hiper Anubis Midi Tower Case - Black (No PSU) £79.99
Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 64-Bit - OEM (66I-01939) £76.99
