Hi guys, I'm looking to build a desktop PC for picture editing/storing, a massive iTunes library, music recording and web browsing. I want it to be as fast as possible at all tasks and and sometimes simontainiously. I have no clue on good brands and spec. Please help!!

I agree with everything Apart from having a 3TB HDD and an I7-3770k. You probably won't even use 2TB
Get an I5-3570k. It's more than enough. The I7 will be a waste.

From OP post it seems storage was a priority... exspecially if hes storing huge raw files for his editing. + it helps future proof it

I7 again depending on how serius his editing is, will give him a huge boost not just now but in future with the hyperthreading technology?

im defiantly no expert on the editing front but i believe HDD space + CPU speed + RAM capacity tend to be the most important parts?

Picture editing isn't a highly.demanding process. Video editing need a bit of power, if its heavy editing. Also storage of pictures shouldn't be a big issue as the files aren't huge.

2tb should be more than enough.

The 3570k should be more than adequate.

"a massive iTunes library, music recording and web browsing"

A massive iTunes library and music recording doesn't require 3 whole TB.

He wants it for mainly browsing and music. A top of the range I7 would be a complete waste unless he was gaming. Even then an I5-2500k is enough.

Oh and the I7 won't give him the boost he needs compared to an I5 because hes only browsing and listening to music lol.

Thanks for the advice so for people. To elaborate I need the PC to last as long as possible. My current one is pushing 10years old lol. It's a dell and has served me rather well. Only corrupted itself twice.

RE: the shipping list does that include an OS?
