First time building a gaming pc

Hello all ive been looking at building a new gaming pc as my current one from dell is knocking on 3 years and is starting to struggle with the newer games ( or cant play them at all). The problem i have is i know only little about graphics cards and motherboards etc im completely lost so i was wondering if anyone on here could spec me a pc with a budget of about 450 quid.

I don't need the operating system as i already have win-7 so all i need is the tower got monitor keyboard and mouse Any help you guys have would be awesome and hope you all had a good christmas.
