First Time Building A Gaming PC

Hi guys this is my first time building a gaming pc, hence the title. I don't really know much about computers so I decided to come on here for some help

. I am using this computer for only a couple of games; World Of Warcraft and Minecraft. At the minute I have a computer but it doesn't run either very well. I just want to play the games at a decent frame-rate, so I can record videos etc. I have about £500 budget.

hard drive is 320gb my graphics card is nvidia gforce 8600gs and cpu - q6600 3gb ram

to be fair, id rather buy a new hdd as this one doesnt have the capacity id like it to have

and optical drives ill check them out in a second

Okay well i might keep that HDD then, how do I know if its sata?

Ok so I came to the conclusion that the HDD is IDE as it has some massive fat cable going into it

Well i just talked to a few friends and they said i should just get a new tower unit, double the ram, get a new motherboard and chip and a new graphics card

Okay, so ill swap the bulldozer processor for
Intel Core i3-2100 3.10GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor - Retail
and the chip for
Asus P8H67-M PRO Intel H67 (Socket 1155) DDR3 MicroATX Motherboard - (Sandybridge) ?
