First Time Building A Gaming PC

D'oh...

Dane's spec would be pretty much perfect for your budget, too.

Do you have anyone who could lend/give you a SATA HDD that they're not using? For a friend's build we had to re-use one of his 2.5" SATA drives from a laptop he wasn't using, maybe you could do that too?

If not, then you'll have to drop down to a 2120 and 6850/6870 like Adam suggested and fit in a ~500Gb drive.

Well i just talked to a few friends and they said i should just get a new tower unit, double the ram, get a new motherboard and chip and a new graphics card

yeh if he drops down to an i3 (price diff about £60) and bump in a 500gb hdd (price £68) he can keep the same mobo, gpu etc and just put in an i5 when he has more cash

before building it yourself if you have not built a pc before i would recommend looking online for tutorials and finding out which cables are which the do's and donts and if in doubt always ask for help im sure you will find a lot of help on these forums also i would recomend if you have one or a friend has an old pc just take it apart just to get a feel for how you go about building a pc.

im sure you will enjoy building your very own pc :D

Hmm
How come?

Because they are nowhere near as good as their Intel counterpart.

Have a look at the Bulldozer thread on here (in processors section).
The chip you suggested was £95.00 - you'd be better off getting an i3 or what not, keeping it for a while then perhaps selling it for ivy-bridge when it comes out.
