Hey people,

Decided to sell my gaming laptop as upgrading it is limited and build my first gaming pc. It's going to be played through my Samsung ks7000 4K tv so I'd like to run stuff in ultra at 2560 and maybe some 4K with reduced settings. I've been doing a fair bit of research the last week and I'm hoping to buy the kit on Black Friday, but I've come up with the parts below I just wondered how it looks and any advise or changes? Thanks

Had a go based on your budget and what you had listed (which i had to remove due to the competitor links)

All the EVGA gfx cards appear to be garbage (overheating/VRM/catching fire video) so went for a Gigabyte one.

Do you have a nice keyboard and mouse (the later making a difference in games over a cheap one).

Cool thanks mate, evga have sorted the issues with the over heating now with a bios update and all cars still shipped after November the 1st will have it pre installed. No I don't have a keyboard and mouse yet, I'll mainly be using my Xbox controller as I'll be sat playing on my sofa. I sometimes play WOW which would need a keyboard tho

EVGA need to do more than a BIOS update as the cooler is not touching the VRMS and causing them to pop, thats why they are sending out thermal pads for end users to have to take the card apart and fix themselves and even these pads are taking sometime to be sent out, all a rather large mess.

Do you also have a copy of windows?

Also a 1070 isnt going to do ultra settings at 4K very well, but WOW should be ok as that looks basic compared to more modern titles.

Not too bad.

I don't have a copy of windows yet but I can get that cheap where I work. Yeah I understand I wouldn't be able to do 4K ultra but other resolutions should be ok in ultra like 2560? I have skyrim so will be playing that and maybe some rpg type games. I'm usually an Xbox player but fancy something with better graphics

Cool I'll check it out
