Hello,

This is my first time building a gaming Desktop and would like some help. For a while now due to the fact I moved around a lot, I used a laptop, however I decide its time I got a proper gaming desktop.
This is what I got so far:

YOUR BASKET
1 x Gigabyte GeForce GTX 670 Windforce 3X 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £335.99
1 x Gigabyte Z77-G1-Sniper 3 Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard £299.99
1 x Intel Core i7-3770K 3.50GHz (Ivybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor (77W) - Retail £259.99
1 x Corsair Professional Series AX 860W '80 Plus Platinum' Modular Power Supply (CP-9020044-UK) £162.95
1 x In-Win Dragon Rider Big Tower Case - Black £99.98
1 x Samsung 120GB SSD 840 SATA 6Gb/s Basic - (MZ-7TD120BW) £89.99
1 x Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM 1TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache - OEM (ST1000DM003) HDD £69.98
1 x Corsair XMS3 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (CMX8GX3M2A1600C9) £49.99
Total : £1,385.36 (includes shipping : £13.75).

Now I just got a couple of questions which I hope you guys can help me with.

1)Is there a possible bottleneck in this build?
2)Is there anything I could get better/same for cheaper? even though I am willing to spend, I prefer to save where possible.
3)Is the case good?
4)Anything crucial that I am missing? I know I gotta get a wireless adapter and I got the monitors/keyboard/mouse sorted.

It is my first time ever building a gaming desktop and I am a novice at this, so I appreciate anyone able to help.

Thank you.

Interesting case but just out of pure curiosity, what's with the case fan on the back of the socket? is cooling such a problem there nowadays?

Seems such a dust magnet for the back of the socket, no?

From the options people are giving I am guessing it is better for a midi tower case?

The case is personnel choice, I have the P280 myself, but included the 550D as an alternative and it is a really nice case. But if you actually prefer the In-Win, then go for it.

Ok cool, thank you for all the help, last thing.

There is no reason for me to get the G1 or the I7? Since it seems like the I5 and the Z77X is just as good?

The i5 is a good gaming chip, whereas the i7 offers HT and is better for video editing and rendering.
If you are not likely to go dual Gpu in the future, you could go for the Z77 D3H and a 500W psu.
No point in buying an expensive mobo if a cheaper one meets all your requirements.

Thanks for all the help, I think I know what to go for now.
The G1 would be best if I went dual GPU in the future then I take it?
Last thing is, none of these builds would bottle neck would they?

None of the builds will bottleneck no, you can SLI on the Z77X-UD3H also. Just make sure you have about 700w+ for SLI, enough to let the PSU breathe.

All of these builds will be good. However ** make sure your ram is low profile RAM - this will enable you to choose a hell of a lot bigger coolers and overclockability will be greatly increased ;) **

Silly question...What do you mean Low profile RAM?

Also, by what you said I take it it is possible to overclock these builds?

Sorry for so many question, just trying to learn as much as possible before a spent over £1000.

They don't have heat sinks, which aren't needed anyway, so they fit under a large cpu cooler. Check out low profile RAM in the store.

Yeah they're overclockable, if you need a hand with overclocking you can come to these boards too. We'll help every step of the way to help you have your dream system running smooth!
