Hi all, first post and looking for some pointers on building a pc. It's a budget build and I will be using a Gfx card + psu from a friends old pc. The build is planned as follows

CPU - 4690K
Mobo - Asus z97m plus
Memory - g.skill trident x 2400 cas 9, 2x4gb
GFx - 780i
Storage - 250gb samsung ssd
Case - Coolermaster silencio 352 matx
Power - Corsair 500w

I guess what i'm looking for is if there are any conflicts between these components. I do not plan to OC at first but will be doing so down the line, therefor I am going to use the stock cooler for the time being. Is this advisable? I am not 100% on the memory I have chosen, I know there is a lot of talk of it running at 1.65v which is not something intel has recommended on a haswell chip, should I be re-thinking to 1800 spd memory for this reason?

Any other suggestions are welcomed.

Thanks in advance

James

I would also get a new PSU , I swap a few things as it should be better and should be about the same price with the PSU :) Just add your mates GPU and install windows.

Thanks for the fast information.

I take it the corsair 500 isn't going to cut it then, fair enough! I guess i can cut quite a bit of cost on the memory, I just liked the sound of the 2400 cas 9 :) haha

goodnight

As said above a better quality PSU would help especially with a 780ti. 550w is about right, that superflower unit is VERY good for the money.

RAM wise 2400 CAS11 is still a noticeable improvement over 1600mhz, well worth the extra £4.
