Hi All,

Looking for some assistance if you can help out a novice. My 15 y/o son is looking to build his own Desktop for Christmas - and I'm afraid I don't have a clue.

He has pulled together a list of parts that he needs and it would be great if someone could validate that they are all compatible and if the spec is decent enough - or provide any suggested replacement parts.

He has identified the following -
(CPU) Intel Core i5-4670 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor
(Motherboard) Asus H87-PLUS ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
(Memory) Corsair Vengeance Pro 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Memory
(Storage) Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
(Video Card) Sapphire Radeon R9 270X 2GB Dual-X Video Card
(Case) BitFenix Comrade windowed

How does the above sound?

Also I would be keen to understand if there are any "missing" parts. I assume we will need an Operating System, WiFi connection (or is that on the motherboard), Cooling Fans?

Thanks for any help / support you can offer

Kevin

Hi,

Is there a total budget for this? as it would be easier if I just go finding parts myself.

What does he want this for?

What resolution is the monitor he uses?
