first time internet buyer

hey guys, im looking into buying broadband for the first time and i was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on a good provider which is quite cheap.

I dont have a phone line, so virgin seemed perfect, but there postcode checker says the area my flat will be, doesn't have cable, so i would still need a phone line.

im still tempted to go with virgin, unless anyone else would reccomend another. thanks

If you dont have cable, I would not recommend Virgin's national service at all.

You are probably better off with an LLU provider, Sky and O2 do good deals if you are existing customers. Have a look at http://www.samknows.com/broadband/broadband_checker and see what LLU is available at your exchange.
