Hi all,
I've had my 15" Macbook Pro 2.66ghz for about 2-3weeks now and it has started to get sluggish already. It's the sort of thing that I'd expect happen on a Windows laptop (maybe Mac too but I don't know) after a few years, maybe it needing a defrag or reinstalling Windows to make it go to it's original speed. But what could be causing the problem on my new Macbook Pro? I have barely any programs running really but Firefox freezes a fair bit and quite a lot of programs pause really when there's no real reason. I've tried using Safari as well just incase it was a Firefox memory leak or something but Safari gets a similar thing. CPU on these programs seem to increase but I can't see why...

I'm thinking it could be because I upgraded to Snow Leopard rather than doing a clean install... (Small rant, my Macbook came just days before Snow Leopard was released but I was still made to pay for it (alright I didnt mind too much it was £7.95) and then it took way over 2 weeks for it to arrive for supposedly £7.95 delivery charges!)

So any ideas? I've got some downloads atm that I want finishing first and once they finish I was thinking of doing a clean install of Snow Leopard which I'm hoping will help.

Cheers!

Alright I'll do that when I can!

Trouble is obviously I already have lots of settings I want to keep buttt I don't want time machine to copy everything across because if it's something I have installed thats made it slow it'll just be slow again!
