Hi all,
Got a system here that was built for a friend. I was originally going to be building him a £900 system but his dad decided he would do at as he has so much knowledge and some spare bits lying around.
He ended up with:
ASRock P4i65G mobo
Intel Pentium 4 3.4GHz (which shows as a dual core CPU but ive been told it is and it isnt)
1GB Ram (mixed brand 2 x 512mb DDR PC3200)
Nvidia Geforce 6600 GT (256mb ram AGP)
Windows XP Pro with SP2
It runs his new games, just. MOH:A, Bioshock, STALKER all run but are rather laggy.
Problem is that with games like HL2, that his old system ran fine he is now suffering some slow down.
I am currently trying to tweak his system but i was wondering whether it would be possible to overclock the gfx card a bit until i can replace it with an new AGP card and 2GB RAM)
sidenote, whats best with gfx cards, a slower card with 512mb ram or a faster card with 256MB?
