Hi all,

I recently bought the Freezer Pro 7 for my Q6600 to attempt a moderate overclocking to about 3ghz!!

I am not really all that technical so I read up a bit on overclocking and watched a few videos on it but the motherboard and bios they used were different to mine so I was not sure if I was adjusting everything correctly.

I am using a P5Q motherboard with 4gb RAM!

When I view syetem information in My Computer it says Q6600 @2.4ghz, 3ghz. Which suggests to me that I have done it right?

I have downloaded and run cpu-z and did a print screen but I am not sure how to place it in here!

yes, that would suggest you have increased the speed. however there's more to it than that. You need to stress test it to ensure it's stable and you may need to alter voltages to achieve this.

a lot of people will stress test their clocks however its not always needed, i found that stress testing will let you know if its stable if your using your cpu for cpu-demanding stuff for every minute of the day, the way i test mine is if i can do my usual daily tasks (video editing, PS work, gaming and general internet surfing) then thats stable enough for me, some people will disagree and others might agree *waits to be flamed *:p

I find doing a proper stress test saves headache if you install a new game and it starts crashing. But i agree most of the time i can't be arsed so i run memtest for a few hours and a fairly demanding game. If temps are fine and no glitches i leave it.
