Hey guys as the title says i wanna overclock in bios instead of using clockgen in the desktop as I'm getting so much issues doing software based overclocking. I just want a fast stable pc :( (no bsod here and there) But the prob is i don't have a clue what settings to change in the bios as my bios is complicated :( (not good) please help me :(:(:(:(

Motherboard Foxconn A6VMX AMD 690V Socket AM2 onboard VGA 6 channel

Processor Amd Athon 64x2 3800

P.s I have managed to get it to 2.5Ghz in clockgen :)

Don't bump 20 mins after you first post.

I don't have the motherboard and have never actually used an AMD processor, so i wouldn't be much help. Stay away from software overclocking though. You'll be looking for something like FSB (should be a number in the hundreds) increase that in steady intervals and test with Prime95. When you start to get errors, increase the Core voltage (should be about 1.2v default) by a few steps and try again. Use CoreTemp to make sure you're not overheating.

The default frequency for Athlons will be 200MHz..

You should be able to get an extra couple of hundred MHz from that processor without any increase in Vcore...

I don't have any experience with the BIOS for this particular mobo, so I can't really help you out that much...
