Hey all,I have never overclocked a system before so i thought i'd make a post and ask for some advice.

This is my system that i built a few months ago:

Atm my system temps are : 25°C/29°C
And my ram is set on auto at: 7-7-7-7-20

Bascially i'm a complete n00b when it comes to overclocking and any help to point me in the right direction would be very much appreciated :)

To the Front Side Bus controls in the BIOS!!! (fsb)
Crank that up to start making it go faster! (sorry dont have that board so cant really be detailed but its the basics of intel 775 overclocking)

You probably want to look for a pci, pci-e and sata frequency lock (cant remember if its done automatically or you need to do it manually these days) as that can cause instant instability if that gets to high.

Urm, you also might want to sonsider setting the ram to something like a 1:1 ratio so that doesnt go crazy when you crank the fsb (though its running at 1333mhz which is 1:1 to start with so urm you might want to down clock your ram for now at 1:2 and work it back up once you have found the cpu/motherboard limits)

if you want to go above 3.8 you may have to increase the voltages slightly
i dont know what voltages it needs but they increase in increments of about 0.01 or so
every time you increase restart and test but keep an eye on your temps

Would you recommend i put an Arctic Cooling Freezer XTREME CPU Cooler or an Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro CPU Cooler before overclocking???

To start off with i was thinking something about 3.5Ghz

im running mine with a freezer 7 and rarely see it get anywhere near 70 and idles at around 35.
The memory in your system might be difficult with oc'íng, bt you should be ok aslong as you up the volts and slacken the timmings or set the divider differently e.g. 400/1333
