Hi everyone,

I am planning on building a small form factor PC for the living room. I haven't built a PC in a few years and have never built anything in a sff case so I am in need of some help from the ocuk community.

This machine needs to be quiet - At least while idle or playing back media. It will be on 24/7 and will sit under a 1080p TV. It will be used as a media center running xbmc on top of windows 8.1 which I have already bought but I am also planning on using it as a console so will install Steam and Hyperspin.

I have an Nvidia 560ti which I will use until I pick up something better next year. I also have an old 1tb hdd which I can put into the new build.

At present I currently have an Antec ISK 600 case but I will probably switch this to a node 304 since I have heard it is a quieter case.

I have put together a list of components that I think are compatible but would appreciate your input. My budget is around £650-£700

Thanks RJC,

Price aside I went for the Asus because I had read that it has a better board layout which may make it easier for working in such a small case. I have used Asus boards in the past and really like the q-fan feature which slows the system fans down when they are not needed at full blast which helps to quiet the machine. Does the MSI have anything similar?

Also regarding the psu, since their isn't a huge difference in price between the 550w and the 650w would I be better off getting the 650w giving me a little more head room before the fans need to spin up? Or does it not work like that?
