No not for me, but for one of my friends.

After some help boys and girls....

My friend hasnt been to London before and is coming over to see me in December. Now, I've been to London on several occasions including doing the tourist things but I still don't know it all that well.

Shes only here for the day (about 8 hours all in all due to flight times) so I was thinking Covent Garden, Oxford Street, Leicester Sq etc. Already asked her if she wants to go on the Eye and she said no. Thats ok with me as I'm not keen on heights :o

Any other must do's/see's you can think of?

Cheers people :)

what day is she coming?

I would avoid oxford street tbh, weekend would be mega busy, rest of the week pretty bad with xmas shopping.

cant think of much at the mo...

somerset house ice rink
matinee performance (but prob full of annoying school kids!)

can you do anything in the evening or is she gone by then?

Burnsey - will take up too much of the day really.

Whitecrook - some funny reading there lol

Stupot - She'll be coming on a Monday. She'll be gone by the evening but you saying about the ice rink has reminded me of the xmas thing in Hyde Park.

Viper - I would you know ;)

Don't try to cram too much into one day. I reckon a couple of decent things plus leaving time for relaxing lunch etc would be good. What about a boat tour? Allows her to see a lot of the sites without having to walk around.

A photo at Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square and Big Ben are compulsory.

You're going to be spending most of your day breathing in other people's dead skin on the underground. :p

i hadnt been to london in a while and the last time i went down all i wanted to do was go iceskating @ canada square( was the only rink still open in jan ), harrods and hamleys - being a girl those are the types of things i love :D also i went to the dungeons which i was dubious about at first but thought it was fun and one touristy thing to do lol

yes, avoid.

It takes surprisingly little time to walk around London. hyde park/oxford circus/parliament/buckingham palace/leicester square/covent garden/south bank are all walkable if you're feeling energetic. It's never nice to visit a city for the first time and spend all your time underground slumming it with everyone else. Londons an exciting place just to walk about, especially if shes never been.

Winter Wonderland was quite nice last year and it's free :D. Had lots of places to get food and drink as well as some nice rides and some ice skating. Would kill a few hours!

It's a pity Erotica 09 exhibition was this weekend just gone :D

Show her canary wharf for the 'Oooo factor', covent garden for the bars, eating and damn tourists. Walk down by the river, London Eye (on a good day).

Gordons wine bar just outsdie embankment station is pretty awesome for its cosiness and great wines.

Too much to think about at this time!
