First Time Watercooling

Hi guys,

I need some serious help. I've been looking into watercooling my rig, as I'd like to overclock it and wanted to make sure the components were as cool as possible.

This is also the first time I've ever watercooled a system, so I spent all weekend reading up on watercooling. I understand the principles and the basics of it, but when I went to fill my shopping basket, I wasn't sure if I'd got all the right stuff.

If you could take a look at my signature, and give me an example shopping list, I would be most grateful. Assume I need to buy fans aswell, and if you feel I could benefit from another case, that would also be fine too. I know the Silverstone TJ07 is a popular choice, but I was wondering just how good it was.

I don't want to mod the case or the watercooling, but I do want to OC the CPU and GPU up, so bear that in mind :)

Also, I wouldn't mind if the whole thing looked halfway decent once installed (UV liquid, coloured tubing, etc), so a colour scheme would be a nice bonus :)

Thanks guys!

EK supreme HF (doesn't really matter which one)
a 480 rad which is either Black ICE GTX, SR1 or thermochill PA
EK FC-5970
Laing D5 (or if you can find one an AC pump ideally as it makes WC a bit less risky, at least when it comes to setting it up)
Swiftech MCRES (nice small reservoir
Use Distilled Water + kill coil, not UV or coloured coolant, for the colour just use coloured UV tubing because it doesn't clog everything up like dyed coolant

oh yeah you'll have to mount the rad outside the case because it's such a big rad (and no a smaller one won't do nearly as good)

No expert myself, but go into the case central section and take a look at some of the water cooled build logs. That should give you a decent idea of what you need and what cases are good.
