Hi Guys/Girls

I am looking at adding some more memory to my build as it was just a starting point. For example I have 4GB of RAM and would like to upgrade this, if I have the free slots can I just add a 2GB of Memory.

Does it have to be the same make and so on?
Can it just be an extra memory slot?
Do I have to buy a set E.G. 2x 4GB

Ideally you want to match any new ram to the existing ones you currently have i.e. spd timings. You should get a matched pair/set of same size sticks otherwise with just 3 slots filled you will lose dual-channel functionality losing some performance.

Actually two of the sticks will run at dual and the remaining stick would run in single, rapt0r.

must admit it's been well over 10 years since I even tried an odd amount of sticks!
