Yo all, first timer here at Overclocking. Was using the "beginners guide" and this is what I have so far:

3ghzclocksofarnf3.jpg

The current bios settings I have:

12012008590bu1.jpg

Specs are:
Abit IP35
Q6600
BFG OC 8800gt 512mb
4gb Geil 800mhz Low Latency ram (well 3gig atm since 1 stick is faulty)
Tuniq tower
Nzxt blackline case
AS5

Am I going in the right direction? Thought id stop at around 3Ghz then get some advice. Any comments and advice would be more then welcome :P

Cheers

1.12v ! nice volts man, i'd have thought it would be a little cooler then that though.

At 3ghz my Q6600 ( with slightly higher volts ) runs at 45*C on a Noctua NH-U12F. And i thought the tuniq was a better cooler then that.

Try raising the volts a little and pushing it further :)

Yeah was wondering the same thing. Perhaps give it another day or 2 for the AS5 to settle in. How much ya think **** raise the voltage by?

Should be the first one 1:1 00. This sets the ram to run at the same speed as the FSB, but because your memory is DDR (double data rate ) your actual memory speed is 668.

This should let you overclock further without you ram limiting u.

Trying now ;), was playing crysis for a while :P

Also er, what would the ideal temp be to stop at? Dont wanna take it too far

Hmm, tried to push it a bit more, ran prime and it was stable at 345. Tried to go further then that and pc freezes up 30 secs into running prime. Anyone have any ideas? :P

kk lossen your RAM timmings... so if you have C4 RAM run it at 5-5-5-23 should eliminate the memory as the cause you can always tighten it later, also if your running 4 sticks up your northbridge voltage to 1.45v

hmm which 'tabs' do they fall under again? ;P, soz being a pain in the butt i know hehe, first time doing this sorta stuff so the help is much appreciated.

Well 5 mins into prime testing and hasnt frozen yet. And nah not using 4 sticks atm, using 3, last one was received faulty :/. should i still up the northbrindge voltage?
