First-timer question about CPU temp & voltages

I started building PCs 20 years ago, and built hundreds in the 90s, but, although rusty, I was frustrated with mediocre performance. So this is the first time I've tried an overclock.

I used the excellent guide in this forum's sticky post. I managed to get a Core 2 Duo E7300 2.66GHz & Corsair Dominator Twin DDR2 PC8500 up to 3.33GHz (FSB333) on an Asus P5Q Deluxe (P45/ICH10R) without much trouble. Sandra says I'm getting about 25% benchmark increase, across the board, and I even overclocked my ATI 5670 by 15%. So I'm a happy bunny. I'm sure I can go further, but I've stopped here for a rest for a few days to make sure it's all happy, and listen to the fans speed up when I do tricky stuff in Photoshop.

Anyway, Coretemp and Realtemp wouldn't work on my system. They both said my CPU was fixed at 58 degrees. So I ended up downloading Asus's own 'PC Probe II', which is dated July 2009, and appears to annoy Win7/64 enough to autoload some extra 32 bit stuff at boot-up. I can't say that I've been impressed with Asus's software. Does anyone know if there's a workaround for this system for Coretemp/Realtemp etc?

Also (and you'll cringe at this), apart from a RAM voltage set to 2.1V, I have my board voltages set to AUTO. This is mainly because I haven't got a clue what to set them to manually. CPU-Z says my Vcore is 1.224V, which I believe is fine, but I have no idea what the other voltages are doing. As a result, I'm hestitant to push any further. Any pointers, please?

Hmm. Must be a toughie.

I decided to have a go with Speedfan, which I used a few years ago with a MSI P4 board. It looks like the ATK0110 API is causing the problem with temperature misreporting. The temperatures reported by the Winbond chip seem to be correct, as is the Vcore value.

So that just leaves the question over the AUTO voltage settings. I'll have another read of the stickies. Meanwhile, if anyone can nudge me in the right direction, it would be much appreciated.

HWMonitor says the same: 58*C across the board.

Asus PC Probe and SpeedFan both say the CPU is lower (currently 25-30*C according to SpeedFan)? Is the sensor stuck? It just seems like the ACPI software is stuffed to me.

I think I'm fine with CPU voltage. It's currently 1.22, and I've budgeted for a max of 1.35ish after reading forums. I've been turning up FSB in 5MHz increments and checking what auto Vcore gives me. Is this a bad way to do it?

No, my worry is that the mainboard voltages (apart from DRAM) are set to AUTO. These include 'CPU Voltage', 'CPU GTL VOltage Reference', 'CPU PLL Voltage', 'FSB Termination Voltage', 'NB Voltage', 'NB GTL Voltage Reference', 'SB Voltage', 'PCIE SATA Voltage'.

I could set CPU Voltage manually, as it's currently working fine at 1.224V (according to CPU-Z), it's the others I've got no idea with, and there are no defaults listed anywhere in the BIOS or manual, so I don't know what to enter.
