they make however many bays you want
the 212 range has only had these updated so far, but if you want a higher capacity one then they are available

I really quite fancy one of these. Think I'll add it to may Christmas maybe list. Just a pity the price of storage to put in them has gone bonkers!!

I've been hovering over a 2 bay NAS for a while now, glad I waited, will need to see some reviews for this one.

Slightly gutted I hadn't planned ahead and bought another 1tb WD green before the crazyness... :(

this is the real shame at the moment, storage costs are sky rocketing whilst the new NAS units for 2012 come with epic features for the same price point as the 2011 models.

the current stock of 2011 models are still current range, there doesnt seem to be much new NAS on the horizon at the moment :(

All is not lost because of high prices. If you are upgrading Diskstations you will most probably want to keep your current data and disks. Just follow this procedure:

http://www.synology.com/tutorials/how_to_migrate.php?lang=us

Make sure that you download the latest DSM and Synology Assistant before you start.

I moved my disks/data over to the 212+ and it took around ten minutes.

Ordered a 211j about 6 weeks ago and thankfully I don't mind now due to the storage prices. These new units look really nice. I think the speeds are similar to the 211j but it has half the power consumption on hibernate mode.

Can't go wrong with a Synology NAS in my opinion. They are always working on new features and releasing updates to the DSM which as far as I'm concerned is one of the easiest to use systems out there with a wealth of useful features.

I'm even tempted to upgrade my DS209.

Problems start when you start looking at the prices for the 12 disc versions :D

..............and then thinking about the cost of discs......
