Hi all, I have recently developed an interest in making movies, My webcam is great quality but not portable, and my digi cam has very poor quality recordings.l

So I was just wondering what is a good video camera, for a first time buyer, I will be wanting to make movies with it, e.g for youtube, and I want them to be a good quality, clear, nice resolution etc... Budget will be about £300, thanks :D

Just wondering how would that compare to a Panasonic Mini DV digital cam, and is it easy to transfer the data onto pc?

with miniDV i use a firewire cable to stream the footage onto PC in Adobe Premiere. You can use Micorsoft Movie Maker 2 aswell which is a freebie.

Raw footage takes up a lot of hardrive space though, roughly 15-20gb per full tape.

 Does it compress down?
