It would be huge effort to remove all the hard tubing and drain the system. Would it really be any different from loosening the CPU block?

Removed the waterblock and backplate and refitted everything and its up and running now with no issues! Trimming the rubber gasket made a big difference as some of the soldered pins on the back of the motherboard were overly long and were catching.
