Hi all, I've got a problem with a door frame I have which doesn't seem to fit standard sizes:
My door opening is approx 802mm Wide by 197.5 in Height.

Nothing seems to fit those dimensions even with trimming the door by the max 5mm tolerance?

Ideally I'd fit something like the following (either foam core or Fire door 30):

^I ask the company above via email and they were pretty useless... Anyone "overtrimmed" a door before? / Know where to get non standard sizes from??

Parents did so with internal solid wood doors. Some of the doors had beading attached/caulked the seams to neaten the edges. Not sure you'd get away with using hollow doors if you need to trim a lot off - is there a reason you want foam core/fire door?

what's the need for foam core or FD30's?
You can get real timber doors and trim them, or have a carpenter make one to fit the opening exactly (not normally as expensive as you think!)

No particular need for hollow door or fire door. The only advantage of a fire door is that I'm opening up the kitchen and this hallway (to the bedrooms) will then back onto the kitchen.

Can anyone recommend somewhere to buy timber doors (will they be able to planed more?) ? I do have the old timber door (I think) but it's in a terrible state..

Yes I could also get the frame re done, but it has a glass panel above and might be a pain/expensive? See pics of the hallways and new carpet below..

iirc you are only meant to take something like 6mm max off all sides of a door, the nearest to yours is likely 826, so you're still struggling, howdens do their dordogne range which looks like your image, be worth speaking to them to see if it's ok to trim it down to your size

i have done this with a hollow door cut down the hinge side of the door too fit a odd size frame i working on, in doing so you completely remove the wooden lat that forms the edge , then remove the ply off the lat and re instert the lat glue and pin it sand up ect.. and paint

this was a flat door mind not a panelled one. bit of messing about but can be done.
