Hey.

I'm looking at putting my TV on the wall next week. I'd like to put the standard power cable for the TV through the wall. Is this acceptable?

Plasterboard, just want to hide the power and hdmi cables behind the board. there's an extension socket on the existing cabinet below I want to use.

Just pop a hole in the board drop the cables, pop a hole where connection is and fish out cable.

Then use filler or caulk and a little paint. ;)

Ours is on a breast wall in 1910 solid brick house, I have done my best with the flattest conduit and cables I could buy. :(

Yup, exactly that.

I'd stick a couple of pattress boxes in the wall, then these over the top. You could even get some conduit inside the wall between the top and the bottom to make it easier to run additional cables.

Beware though, you might have plasterboard with cardboard supports on the back. You'll have to punch through to get HDMI and power through I reckon.
