Fitting an intercooler to a 306 HDI

I've been researching the 306 HDI models and I was slightly puzzled to discover they dont come with an intercooler.

Is it possible to fit one?
Seems rather odd as surely it wouldnt have cost much for Peugeot to fit them as standard. My house mates 306 1.9TD has one :confused:

As far as i know you can fit a front mount yeah.

The 110bhp version of the same engine has an intercooler.

Interesting! I wonder if thats the only real difference between the two. Intercoolers do make a big difference...

Thoguht about adding one to my Xsara when I saw a 2nd hand intercooler on eBay a few weeks ago, but came away with the impression that its possible but not documented very well anywhere.

Intercooler and map is the only difference between the two versions AFAIK.

Selling the pulsar for a 306?

You need the inlet manifold off a 406HDi; can wedge an intercooler onto that.
