Hi,

I have recently purchased a second hand delta v3 water bloock. It did not come with instructions and i'm not sure which way round the nuts/springs etc go on the bolt. Also is there supposed to be a backplate or is it the big round flat nuts that secure it to the back of the board?

If anybody has got this block I would appreciate the help.

Strange the XSPC site has a manual for the chip set block but not the cpu blocks:

http://www.xspc.biz/manuals.php

The basic idea should be the same, If you look at the 2nd page of the chip set block manual, 'Mounting Hole Type Installation' does anything look familiar ? NB the washers shown nearest to the mb may be plastic insulating washers, double check your mb and ensure any metal nuts or washers are kept a safe distance from delicate tracks or solder joins.

Backplate: The idea is to allow the screws to be tightened without risk of bending the board. Usually a rectangular plate slightly larger then the distance between the fixing screws, one side is electronically insulated allowing it to fit on the back side of the pcb. Is it strictly necessary ? Without it you'll need to be careful when tightening the screws and applying maximum pressure may prove impossible, but the block should still work.
