Fitting EK backplate to 780 Ti

I am about to fit an EK backplate to a reference ASUS 780 Ti and I was wondering...

I know you get a strip of thermal tape with the EK backplate which is not needed on a 780 Ti but there are three prominent components on the back of the 780 Ti right behind the GPU itself. Would it be advisable to put part of the tape over them to help them make contact with the backplate or is it not needed?

Not needed as there are standoff's on the plate

OK, thanks - that is good to know.

I had seen backplates for air coolers that even had a cutout on the back behind the GPU so I assumed those three components weren't heat critical anyway.

As above, very easy to fit. Just screw as instructed and away you go. Only need the thermal pads on the Titans for memory.
