Im looking at getting the, Toshiba Satellite Pro L650-165, it only comes with 2GB fitted, so really want to get another 2GB. As this is my first laptop, how different is it from fitting memory into a desktop PC, is the ram easy to get at on a laptop, i take it its just a cover on the underside that you unscrew and just insert the ram into the empty slot?

Also is £45 for another 2GB of laptop memory a good deal?

Yeah usually just unscrew the cover on the bottom. Only problem is that there's usually only 2 sockets and the laptop may come with 1GBx2 modulesso you may have to buy 2GBx2 modules.

You could open it up and take a look before ordering, then you'll know if it's easy enough to do :) it should be though.

Just make sure you get the right kind of RAM, I know some laptops/notebooks use smaller SODIMM RAM, but I'm not sure if this is standard or just for smaller/older ones
