Hi, first build here and I'm in the process of trying to fit the cpu. However, I'm finding it difficult to pull down the socket alignment key into place. I don't want to apply too much pressure due to the motherboard and cpu being the most expensive parts of the system lol. How much pressure is needed to fit the socket allignment key?

Edit: Its a pt6 motherboard...

Thanks

I am using a P6T deluxe so i'm sure the CPU mounting is similar if not identical. I had to put a lot of pressure to get it locked (to the point that the level was visably curved). I have been running it for months and seems fine. I guess its just normal with these boards.

As long as the chip is orientated the correct way - go ahead and give it all the strength it needs.

Found the exact same thing while installing my i7 into my UD5. I had everything aligned but the clamp that goes over the top was sitting comfortably on top at a slight angle, not flat. I was really getting worried thinking "this cant be right". But after awhile of trolling through the internet on my laptop i decided to just Do it. The arm i put a lot of pressure on but everything is fine and working how it should be working!
