I fitted an XSPC water block to my 4870X2 and as per my other thread I was having stability issues.

The block came with thermal pads to cut up and stick to the ram and other chips, is it better to use this or just use MX-2 anywhere that will make contact?

Also if someone could email me as to where I can buy good thermal pad that would be great, OcUK only sell the Akasa one which is too sticky.

It probably came with thermal pads due to the gap being to big for the likes of AS5 and the others. Quite agree about the Akasa pads too. Found that out last week. What a pig to get off.

Thats what I was thinking about there could be a gap, the thermal pads it came with are about 0.5mm or less. I just checked their fitting guide on the XSPC website where its clearer to see than the black and white instructions they send and I can see they have used thermal pads on the GPU cores too.
