Fittings shortage?

Trying to do my new build but taking longer than anticipated due to what appears to be a shortage of fittings for hard tubes.

The ten pack of Primochill revolver fittings in blue is now discontinued and there is only one left in stock.

Managed to track down some Bitspower 90 degree fittings in blue on another site but only 2 available.

Amazon and e-bay draw a blank.

Is it just because I'm after blue fittings or is finding all the components necessary for a few bends in the same colour becoming more difficult?

you have my sympathies on this mate.

Every water build I have done I have HAD to use 2-3 places as OCUK have never had the entire kit In stock when it comes to order time.

it s a shame as I really value the "no quibble" "send it back" attitude if something is wrong or I screwed up and ordered the wrong bit (not that that's ever happened ahem..)

Never sure if its down to stock/costs or stock/availability.

'Searching' for primochill revolver does give results.

My experience of wanting a specific or niche product has always meant that you have to shop around and look for availability - in a lot of ways its half the fun of planning a project.

It is great that there is so much choice now, as w/c companies have stepped it up.

I ended up having to order most of my watercooling parts direct from the manufacture as OC didn't have stock & couldn't give me a date when they expected stock to arrive.

My EK GPU block & res was ordered directly from them & only took 3 days to arrive...not bad from Slovenia for the princly sum of £7 :D

Thanks, will give it a try.

Only one solitary primochill revolver left here and just found them on e-bay for a tenner a pop!

This rebuild for cosmetic purposes is turning out to be very expensive!

its not just OCUK though, its every UK stockiest of watercooling fittings.

Nobody in the UK ever stocks the full range or enough quantities.

Perhaps in the UK watercooling just isnt popular enough?

In the last two month the only things i have bought from uk suppliers has been the radiators. All the tubing and fittings have come from Europe.

Its sad :(

Hi,

We have a few reasons why we do not sell certain products or do not have much stock of the items.

We end of life products if an item has not sold more than 1 unit a month in the last 6 months and this is why we only have certain colours.

The Blue colour sells very low across the whole range and not just primochill and you will see what we do not list the blue on monsoon either.

We are unable to list every water cooling part from every manufacturer as we would not be able to maintain the stock level and service as we depends a lot on overseas companies for the stock.

We try and get as much components as possible and try and keep up with the industry but some manufacturers do not do as well in the UK as others so we have to make a decision on what we list.

An example on the Primochill revolver blue fittings we bought 2 of them in Sept 2015 and we sold the last one on 16th of July.

We are just unable to keep hold of all possibilities unfortunately.

I fully understand why and I cant fault ocuk for not stocking things which dont sell or will only sell once a year.

Again, all I can think of is that watercooling is not as popular in the UK. I see etailers in Europe stocking 500+ items of things that ocuk have 5 in stock.

Clearly if as a retailer you keep over 500 of one item in stock, you must be shifting them on a regular basis.

Last time I looked even Casekings range was much bigger than ocuk and they had more stock.

Just a shame for us dedicated UK watercoolers.

We all have our own good sellers that Caseking and other etailers outside of the UK do sell well for example I have an EK fitting that sell 200 a month and Caseking sell 10.

It just seems that certain brands seem to sell better than other in different countries as I know Bitspower and Primochill sell better outside of the UK so they stock more.

We are currently working with Monsoon to get their range moving again as we ran out of stock for a long time. The issues is that we had too many colours and now we have a lot of stock that we have to sell at big losses to move. Keeping all colours is hard to do as I have found out since taking over from Rich as they are limited to the odd person wanting something like an orange system or a gold system.

I understand your frustration though but it is not easy to try and stock for all possible outcomes for every brand even the unpopular ones.

Again Robbie, thanks for the reply.

Please don't see my comments as a criticism of OCUK but more of the UK market.

It doesn't get any better when you try and order from other uk etailers. They have limited stock and ranges too.

(I have just placed an order for £30 of fittings from ocuk that I am missing for my build :))

:)

What Greebo is really saying is that we all need to rebuild MUCH more often. If you insist i'll start a new one :)

I think its also partly down to these lazy hardline builders that refuse to bend the tube and use 30 x 90 degree fittings in one build... Primary reason why there are never any white Bitspower fittings.

*cough i only bought 4 x 90 degree ones just to make my life easier for the tube behind the moboboard which nobody will see ;)

Hi, Do not worry I did not take it to heart...much, but I just wanted to try and explain it a little so I hope I didn't come across badly.
