My thoughts entirely.
The Noctua listed on that post is indeed awesome. I have it on a i7 3930k and it keeps it cool all the time even when running on max at 4.4Ghz.
The only thing I can imagine doing better is water cooling which I don't have the money for at the moment.

Most people also have compatibility issues with mobo heatsinks, case width, memory etc. So the best heatsink for a particular user has to take into account all of these.
Good page for people who don't want to spend too much time researching, and only want to get a solid option based on what they can afford.
