Fix frame of door

We have a front door of half glass and half upvc, with a traditional wooden front door and Yale lock behind that.

Anyway, my little boy closed the door behind me this morning and I had to force the door, which ripped the strike plate (the bit the Yale latch goes into?) from the frame.

Any tips to fix? Do I get a pro in or use wood filler epoxy, or strip the wood back for a new frame…ultimately it wasn’t that hard to force it

I agree with Murphy it looks like it has been repaired before.

Personally i would get a new frame as i would not trust the repair to be as strong, but it depends on how secure you
need it considering you have another door in front of it.

Yeah, if I’m honest my gut says do it properly..the other door has an Fulton lock but we do often forget to lock it
