Anyone who can fix ipod's give some advice please?

I was repairing my home button and in the process of prying open the case, the gold connector for the power button fell off. The gold connector is attached to the board and makes contact with the power button circuit that is on the rear panel.

I scrunched up some wire as a replacement and pressed on the metal contact (where the gold connector was suppose to be) it works fine, turns screen on/off. When I reattached the case making sure it makes contact, the power button doesn't work. Any clues how I can fix this before I bin it?

I would be forever grateful for any advice/tips :)

Not worth the stress, i would bin it tbh. awful little thing to work on, i only repair 2gen upwards now.

I know but I just wanted to give it one last shot :D Is the gold connector glued on? I don't know how it just came off as I didn't stick anything in too deep when opening the case; I only used a pry tool and guitar pick.
