Or more accurately, fix it, then flog it, OR chop it into bits and sell it off seperately?

Been given a p-reg 3 door mk3 astra TD, engine has recently had the head done, but the bodywork is a bit battered (nothing i couldn't sort though)

Any idea what a 10 year old astra td is worth?

It's had a drag along the passenger side, which has been fixed (badly), and the drivers side has had a woman driver.

Been digging through the pile of paperwork he gave me and i've found it's still got MOT till the end of next month

So, wadda ya think, fix it, or chop it?

I would say anywhere between £200 and £1k depending on condition.

Breaking it would probably give the best returns, if you have the room to have a stripped car hanging around for a while.

Sell it as a snotter as it is, perhaps try and get another test on it cheap?. The bodywork would cost more to put right than the cars worth unless you can do it all yourself...and its got the stinky Vauxhall engine.
:)

Stick it on ebay for a buy it know price of £200-800 but with a best offer option. Depending how many miles, condition ect. Some people just wont cheap reliable cars and don't care what the body work is like.

That's what i do with my old cars. The chinqo went for 3 times as much as I wanted for it.

Put it through a test this morning.

Umm.

It's the first time i've ever had an MOT fail ticket have the "DANGEROUS" box filled in.
And the guy had to load a second red sheet into the printer to get all the defects printed out out

Might take a bit longer than expected .....

And i've already got a potential buyer for it ;)

EDIT

Just wondering if anybody knows if heater plugs die instantly, or "fade out"? I had to swap in another battery this morning to get it to start, the fact it was around 0c may have had something to do with it which is why i'm wondering about the heaters.

Ebay it, quickest way to get shut of it :) £1 starting with no reserve and see what it goes for. How ive got rid of all my old wrecks.

hmmm. Reminds me when someone got given a rover 800 on here, failed on about 20 items and thought it would cost £50 to fix.

For some reason that reminds me, what ever happened to that guy who bought that dodgy old range rover with no MOT off the dealer? He kept going through loads of vectra's too iirc.
