Righty,
Finally resolved my ram issues with unbending the pins on my cpu.
So everythings working fine.
now, games cause my pc to freeze. Both 2142, less so and guildwars, within 1 min but last night i played for well over 2 hours fine. Ceasar4 doesnt though :/
Well, right click my computer > manage > and the logs there show no errors.
So now I'm totally stumped, kaput. My knowledge goes no further.
spec is 2gig ddr 400 (4sticks)
3000 venice at stock
asus a8n sli prem
7800gt oc
hiper type r 480 non modular
and a possible cause: IDE 20gig 5200rpm ata 33 hdd
It cant just be the hdd can it? Mines in RMA (sammy spinpoint sata)
Anyway of getting/saving more logs so i can pinpoint this?
I also have a problem with my onboard audio. Digital coax works fine, lovely infact.
I plug my heaadset into analogue, it detects its there (with the connector sensing thingi) but wont output audio via analogue, or pickup mic sounds with mic being muted. Which means i need speakers on and have a huuuge echo fest.
I've tried nvidia audio drivers and nvmixer, and spidif just didnt want to work (cant rmemeber trying analogue then actually...)
The mobo disk drivers/asus drivers seem a bit flakey on this mobo though. They used to allow for Spidif: output analogue and digital. But sometimes that will show and sometimes it wont, but still doesnt allow audio via the headset.
Any help on this would be greatfully recieved.
