Can someone help me understand the X79 board.

I have a GB UP4 X79 board and the memory timings in the bios that I can get are

13.33 16.66 18.66 21.33

I am familiar with the old method of BLCK and memory timings ratio.

But how does it work on a X79 board and is it possible to set at 2000mhz memory ?

The reason is I have a GB UP4 X79 board with 8x4GB Corsair Veggie 1600 9-9-9-24 memory in.

I can O/C to 1866 with 9-10-9-24 and a voltage increase, but 2133 is just to fast for the memory no matter what settings I go for, looser or tighter.

I would like to compromise at 2000Mhz, but is that possible with the ranges available on the X79 of 18.66 and 21.33 no matter what I set in the bios ?

I have tried messing with blck and it makes no difference to the memory speed options in the bios. I am not using XMP

Use the 1.25 BLK strap and 125 BLK and 2000mhz is immediately an option as one of the dividers.

Thanks mate, had a play with BLCK and managed to get my speed up a little to 4.83 and memory from 1600 to 1959 :)

So Corsair Veggi 32GB in 4GB sticks @ 1959, 1.65V and 9-10-9-24 :D

Not too shabby for cheapo memory.
