Hi all.

Because I'm a useless child killing 19 year old in a car that's far too fast for me and will spit me into a hedge I got caught speeding a couple of weeks ago and got the NIP. Signed, sent it off, etc... but have not yet got a FPN back. How long does it usually take? I am mildly concerned they have not recieved the letter and all.

Cheers

I thought the letter had to have a post mark within 14 days? Delays etc...

There was a case last year during the postal strike when this was hotly contested. Read more here

I still don't think we know the full answer to this question. So to avoid anybody else picking my posts apart - 14 days or thereabouts :p

14 days for the NIP isn't it, I thought they then had 6 months

they have 6 months to bring you to court if you've been a naughty boy and get given your NIP at the road side by the officer and a fixed penalty is deemed not appropriate and the officer instead sends you to the magistrates court.

For postal NIPs its 14 days.

If people have read me post they would see I already have had the NIP and am wondering how long it takes for them to send me an FPN!
Ah, 6 months to send me a fine! Lovely.

:( They have got really hot on speeding round here of late. Even my favourite stretch of road has been infected by the unmarked 5-0 :(

Where abouts did you get tugged?
