Unfortunatly some kind person in a 4x4 i assume, hit my car and dented without leaving any information and i didnt see it happen. Anyone got an idea how much it would cost to fix? I emailed a local mobile dent removal company and they said its a body shop job.

On a car of that age mate you would be far better off buying a used tailgate from a breakers and swapping it over :)

I'd give it a go myself, whip the trim off the inside of the boot and try and carefully pop it out as best you can, peugeot panels are normally thinner than rice paper, if it works you're quids in, if not then you take it to a bodyshop.

slight update.

Me and my dad had a go at popping / pushing it back into the original shape. Nearly did all of it, but gave up for now. May attempt a bit more somewhen else. I think it looks a bit better, a lot less smaller at least.

Looks a lot better, if you feel brave and are planning on having a go at the rest of it, try using something like a cricket ball to roll the panel from the inside.

You could also try using a glue gun (using amber coloured wood glue), stick a sploge over the center of the dent, get an old broom handle, cut off one end so it's flat, stick it in the glue, wait for it to dry and pull gently until the dent comes out, I've seen it work before and the glue will not damage your clearcoat/paint.

yeh i think il attempt to get the panel a bit hotter when i re attempt it. It wasnt exactly hot when i was doing it, so il wait for a sunny day if one appears when its nice and hot, try a hair dryer and have another go.

Poor car, I too have a dent in my black gti' tailgate :(

Im not going to be able to pull mine out, plus the paint is ruined inside the dent...
