Fixing a kone mouse wheel

My Roccat Kone V1 mouse wheel has finally broke after a years use or so (Damn you AVP for making me click mouse 3).

I bought this on the bay so Roccat are refusing to help me + the seller isnt going to exchange it even though it has a 2 year warranty

Has anyone encountered/tried fixing this problem themselves?

Is the mouse wheel stuck (not spinning) or not clicking?

what ever the problem you will need to open up the mouse, look for obvious damage and check for gunk around the wheel that could be stopping it spinning.

If something is broken then you could try a repair but its probably time for a new mouse. If its just gunked up then degunk it and get back to playing AVP.

Ha its probably a good thing that its keeping me from playing AVP.

Well i clicked the wheel down and i heard a little crack. Now the wheel spins freely without any feeling of "notchs" i suppose you could call them. But the main thing is it doesnt register the wheel at all which is a massive pain.

Im thinking of getting the version 2 of the mouse as it has served me well and apparently this problem is fixed, but with the responses i got from Roccat support (basically said yeah its our fault... but we wont help you) i might be going elsewhere.

Hmmm didnt mean to bump this was trying to delete it.

Well in other news the mouse was unfixable so i bought the second revision. It has served me well for the past few months
