Hey,

This should be the last problem I am having with the new rig, my dual screen keeps going back to underscan/overscan type setting. For instance everything is neat, all corners (etc) alligned perfectly, then it randomly resets, the buttons go larger and it becomes a square in the center of the screen like it has not been overscanned, with black border.

If I turn the screen off with the remote control and then back on again, it all goes back to nice and normal how it should be.

This also happens when the computer asks me admin permission for something, or if I press ctrl+alt+del to get up the task manager or other stuff it makes it reset, again I have to turn the screen off and on each time.

So how am I to fix this issue? :)

My GPU is Nvidia GTX950.

Thanks.

edit: My main monitor is DVI-D, the screen that keeps messing up is connected via HDMI...if that is any help. Same screens as I had on my old rig, same connections, only problems come with the new rig.

First thing I'd check is if the HDMI cable is making a good connection at the GPU end. I've had a few GPUs where the HDMI cable gets slightly caught on the metal strips between the PCI slots. Usually, unscrewing the card at the PCI end, pushing it down very slightly, then screwing it back in gives enough clearance for the HDMI cable to push home fully.

Other than that, not really sure what to suggest. Have you got the latest drivers installed for the 950? If not, try them, and if you have then try a slightly older driver to see if maybe it's just a driver bug.

Like Stu said, check all cables are in properly (power, hmdi, etc), get latest drivers, etc. Also check if you have more than 1 graphics software installed. Some (usually pre-installed) computers have Nvidia/AMD software installed but also Intel GPU software for the onboard GPU, having both at once can cause problems, so uninstall the one you dont need.
