Fixing felt roof

Currently have a felt flat roof over the garage, where it folds over the corner it has split, my plan to fix would be to paint in bitumen paint then stick bitumen flashing tape over the top.

Any reason why this wouldnt work? Or another option to look at?

No plans to fully replace as building an extension in 12-18 months and roof will be removed as part of that.

Personally I'd look at using something like Bostik Flexacryl or similar. Just paint it on and you're done.

As it's temporary it should be more than fine.

Problem with that is the felt has split so don't think that product would work

I've done flashing tape then Bostik emergency roof repair on mine. Worked perfectly
